Mosquitos are at the heart of problems far greater than ruining backyard picnics and summer outdoor activities. They are, in fact, the cause of 300 - 500 million annual cases of malaria, resulting in one to three million deaths each year.
Matthew Wood, founder and CEO of SCD Probiotics, will present a brief overview of the social and economic loss created by the mosquito, and the SCD Probiotic technology that has been developed to help control the devastation. He will share lab results using solutions of liquid probiotics on mosquito larvae, from Columbia, India and Thailand, and promising field results from India and Honduras.

Mr. Wood is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SCD Probiotics. Prior to starting the company in 1998, Wood worked with other industry experts in the field of probiotics, developing and implementing projects across North America. He received his undergraduate degree in Soil and Atmospheric Sciences from the School of Natural Resources, University of Missouri-Columbia (USA), and a Master of Science Degree in Bioproduction (Tropical Crop Science) from School of Agriculture Bioproduction, University of the Ryukyus (Okinawa, Japan).
