Abstract

The Power of Probiotics in 2011
Opening Remarks

By Matthew Wood

All living systems have a microbial ecology that can be managed by, and benefit from, the constant delivery of SCD Probiotics - providing a variety of consumer and business applications for their products.

In his opening remarks, Matthew Wood, CEO of SCD Probiotics, will take you through a global look at the challenges we all face - from natural disasters, to the heavy use of pesticides, to the increasing number of pathogen outbreaks around the world - and speak to the role that probiotics play in providing cost-effective answers.

The presentation includes a brief overview of the role governments, non-profit organizations and the private sector play in helping to create sustainable solutions for healthier people, healthier communities and a healthier planet.

You will hear how innovation and new technology is a key driver of hockey-stick revenue growth in the private sector, followed by a summary of the SCD Probiotics’ technology research and market opportunity. SCD Probiotics’ proprietary technology provides the platform for an explosion of growth. Similar to the synergy of the beneficial microorganisms in SCD Probiotics’ consortia technology, the SCD licensee business model provides a platform for new business ventures. The power of probiotics can be multiplied exponentially through leveraging the knowledge and expertise of business partners around the globe.
