- Matthew Wood, Founder and CEO
After earning his Bachelor’s of Science in Soil Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Matthew Wood founded SCD Probiotics in 1998 from his very own garage. Shortly after, he moved to Okinawa, Japan, where he completed his Master's of Science Degree at the University of Ryukyus. From here, he managed the company remotely. After receiving his Master’s in 2002, Matthew returned to Kansas City and focused on taking the business to the next level. In effect, SCD started to manufacture in 2004, selling the first license in 2007.
Since, Matthew has remained inspired to make the world a healthier place through probiotics and consortia technology. Remaining true to his vision, SCD has developed an array of probiotics-based goods designed for both consumer and commercial applications.
- Ernie Ketcham, Chief Operating Officer
After graduating from Wheeling Jesuit University and serving as a US Marine Corps infantry officer, Ernie entered into the steel distribution industry, working in operations, sales and numerous management positions before founding and operating a very successful company, Galvmet Inc., within that industry.
Ernie brings his leadership skills and strong business acumen to the world of probiotics manufacturing.
- Dr. Narin Tipsrisukond, Executive Vice President of Technology
Prior to joining SCD, Dr. Narin Tipsrisukond was a research specialist at the Agricultural Experiment Station Chemical Laboratory, a USDA-registered laboratory and a Missouri State Chemistry Laboratory. His research there emphasized instrumental and chemical analyses, industrial microbiology, and correlation of objective biological and chemical data to analytical and consumer sensory characteristics. Narin earned his doctoral degree in Food Chemistry and Technology from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
- Cindy Peterson, Vice President of Legal and Administration
Cindy Peterson is a skilled paralegal and office administrative professional with over 30 years of administrative experience. Before coming to SCD, she worked for 16 years as an Executive Paralegal/Office Manager in various legal capacities. With an educational background in Accounting, Horticulture, and Agronomy, Cindy offers invaluable insights about the streamlining of legal and administrative procedures.
