Gerhard (Gerd) J. Poppel
President/Owner, NutraPet Systems LLC


Mr. Poppel is President/Owner of NutraPet Systems LLC, a product development company specializing in new and unique products for the pet care and animal health industry. His extensive experience in the food and pet food industry includes previous work for Nestle Pet Care and Teva Animal Health. Poppel joined SCD Probiotics in 2009 as Business Advisor. He is fluent in German and English with basic skills in French. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Food Science and Technology from the University of Applied Science in Berlin, Germany, and an MBA from Benedictine College.


Andrew Atterbury
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Inergy L.P.


Andy joined Inergy in June 2002 from Kinder Morgan, Inc. where he worked in the company's Corporate Development Group. Prior to joining Kinder Morgan, Andy worked at Lehman Brothers in its Real Estate Principal Transactions Group. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Columbia University.


Robert Fisher
Partner, Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal, LLP


Mr. Fisher practices in the Corporate Practice Group, concentrating in corporate and finance transactional matters, principally in mergers and acquisitions. His practice also includes complex debt financings, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame and his Law degrees from Georgetown University.




Alexander Kemper
Chairman, The Collectors Fund


Mr. Kemper is the chairman of the board of Kansas City-based The Collectors Fund, a private equity fund focused on alternative asset classes. He founded Perfect Commerce and served as chairman and chief executive officer from 2000 to 2006. Before founding the company, Kemper was the chairman of the board and CEO of UMB Bank, N.A. and CEO of UMB Financial Corp., a Nasdaq-traded financial services company with assets of more than $8 billion.

Edward Stevens
Chief Executive Officer, Pulse NeedleFree Systems


Mr. Stevens joined Pulse NeedleFree Systems in April 2006 and initially served as Vice President of the company’s human division. An attorney by training, Mr. Stevens practiced law for several years and represented companies in the medical field. In 2004, Mr. Stevens was appointed by the Governor of Missouri to the Missouri Life Sciences Research Board, which promotes and funds area life sciences research and technology commercialization projects. .


Matthew Wood
Chief Executive Officer, SCD Probiotics


Matthew Wood founded SCD Probiotics in 1998 after extensive study in the science of beneficial microorganisms. Matthew received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and his Master’s of Science Degree in Bioproduction at the University of Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan under the direction of Dr. Teruo Higa. Fluent in English, Spanish and Japanese, Matthew has been a frequent guest speaker at global conferences on sustainability and probiotic technology.
