VTU's Black Castings are naturally produced through a patented process using European Night Crawlers and SCD Probiotics Technology, resulting in a high-quality, living sustained-release fertilizer. VTU's pure worm castings provides remarkable benefits such as:  all-natural fertilizer, increased yields, reduced transplant shock, vigorous plant growth and larger flowers.

Root Crops:
Layer 1 to 2 inches of Worm Castings in bottom and sides of the seed furrows and plant holes. Set seeds or plants in place and cover with soil. In 4 to 6 weeks side dress with 1/8 inch of castings.

All types Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplants, Beans, Cucumbers and Melons:
Mix 1 part Earthworm castings to 4 parts soil. Line newly dug hole with mixture, place plant in hole and cover. Top dress each plant or hill with 1/4 cup of pure castings after budding. Water and repeat every two months.

Potted Plants and Planter Boxes:
Add 1/2 to 1 inch of Earthworm Castings to surface of the soil. Water and repeat every 3 to 4 months.

Compost Bins:
Spread a thin layer of earthworm castings in between each layer of compost material.

Roses, Shrubs and Trees:
New or Transplanted - Mix 1 part Earthworm Castings to 2 parts compost or organic peat. Surround the newly dug hole with mixture, spread roots over mound of mixture in the hole. Cover and water well to eliminate air pockets.

Established Roses and Shrubs:
Mix 4 cups of earthworm castings into the surface of each plant and cover with mulch

Established Tree:
Use 2 cups of Earthworm Castings for each 1 inch diameter of tree. Top dress from the trunk to drip line, cover with mulch or compost and water.

Lawns (established):
Top dress with 5 lbs. per 100 sq.ft. and water well.

Lawns (new): Great for seed and Sod!
Use 10 lb. per 100 sp. ft. Broadcast seed into seedbed, rake in and water. Use 1/8 inch earthworm castings to sod bed surface, apply sod and watch it grow.

Worm Casting Tea:
Add 1 cup to gallon of water and let steep for 24 hours. Shake well and water as usual. The clear liquid may be used as a foliar spray as needed.

These earthworms consume a humus, grain and beneficial microbes mixed in an indoor, automated system with climate-controlled conditions. Pure Black Castings are full of beneficial microbes and nutrients that are natural, fast to breakdown and odorless.
