SCD Probiotics Welcomes Fourteen New Employees
KANSAS CITY, MO – SCD Probiotics has seen record growth this year, hiring 14 new employees in 6 departments. “We are excited to welcome such a qualified and experienced group of new team members and look forward to a busy and profitable 2014,” said Matthew Wood, CEO.
Finance and Administration
Bill Shelton joined the SCD Accounting Team in January 2013 as Senior Manager Accounting and Administration. Before joining SCD he held accounting and management positions with several large corporations. Most recently he was an Administrative Specialist with the US Census Bureau. Bill was promoted to General Manager in December 2013, and in his new position will have a much broader area of responsibilities and will play a larger role in the management of the organization.
Mary Houser joined SCD as an Accounting Associate in July and has focused on providing accounting support to Proviera and as the focal person for processing all accounts payable for both SCD and Proviera. She was promoted to Accounting Manager in November.
Mike Peck joined SCD as Accounting Manager in December 2013, with responsibility for all accounting and finance functions for the company. Mike has held several management related positions in finance and accounting with 18 years in pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing, and another 10 years in transportation logistics and construction businesses. He holds a BS in Chemistry and a MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri.
Sales and Business Development
Steve Stecklein joined SCD Probiotics as Business Development Manager. He brings 15 years of sales and marketing experience to SCD. He is founder and executive for Splintek Inc., an innovative Consumer Packaged Goods company specializing in health and comfort products for Humans and Companion Animals. Most recently he served as Sales Director for Halo, Purely for Pets.
Stacey Aaronson joined SCD Probiotics as Vice President, Business Development in August, bringing over 20 years of business development experience to SCD Probiotics and Proviera Biotech.
As the Director, Business Development, The America’s for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for the last 3 years, Stacey provided business guidance to a high-value portfolio of multi-sectored companies with combined revenues of over $1 billion.
John Hooper joined SCD Probiotics as Senior Manager, Quality Operations in July 2013. He comes to SCD Probiotics with 17 years of manufacturing, QA/QC and distribution leadership experience with 3 world class manufacturers… Pepsi Americas (now Pepsi Beverages Company), a world leader in the soft drink and bottled water industry, Diageo, the world’s leading alcohol beverage brand company and Kellogg, the world’s leading cereal company and a leading snack food producer.
JP Stambaugh joined SCD Probiotics in February 2013 and was promoted to the position of Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager in September. JP will be tasked as QA/QC Manager with further development of SCD Probiotics’ quality systems and continuous improvement efforts.
Jason Seymour joined SCD Probiotics in December 2013. Jason will serve the organization as Quality Assurance / Quality Control Technician reporting directly to the QA/QC Manager. Jason has acquired previous quality control experience with DeLaval Cleaning Solutions and most recently with Mars Petcare, where he was a Senior Microbiology Specialist. Jason earned a BS Biology from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO.
Research and Development
Minzhao Huang joined SCD in February 2013 as Research Microbiologist. She graduated with an M.D. from the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Fujian province. In 1989 she went to Nagoya City, Japan where she received her PhD of Pharmaceutical science from Nagoya City University. Minzhao has also been a researcher at UMKC and KU Medical Center for 14 years.
Yarui Liu joined SCD in April of 2013 as QC Microbiologist. She majored in Food Science and Engineering and earned her Bachelor of Engineering at Shaanxi Normal University in China. In 2010, she pursued her Master’s degree in Food Science at University of Missouri, Columbia.
Juan Carlos Castell joined the team in June 2013 as Tannery Technical Director / Sales - Spain. He holds a PhD in Leather Technology from the Polytechnic University of Catalunya. He also holds an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Barcelona. He has served as the Managing Director for AIICA, a nonprofit research center associated with the Spanish tanning industry researching new and advanced technologies to improve all aspects of the leather industry.
Sara Adriano joined the team in August 2013 as an Account Coordinator for Proviera. She
has 10 years of experience in customer service spending part of that time in the role of Communications Director for a small painting company.
Operations and Facility
Ricardo Lopez joined SCD Probiotics as Warehouse Coordinator. Ricardo’s primary responsibility is the daily shipment of product all over the U.S. and worldwide.
Char O’Hara joined SCD Probiotics in November as Supply Chain Coordinator. Char comes here from a small organic food manufacturing company where she ran the supply chains for 4 different product lines.
